Former Sachem Standout Named Head Coach

Brendan Chamberlain Named Head Coach at Suffolk CC

Suffolk Community College, Michael J. Grant Campus Director of Athletics Sam Braunstein has announced that former Assistant Coach Brendan Chamberlain has agreed to become head coach of the lacrosse team at the college. Chamberlain comes to Suffolk after stints as a top assistant at Stony Brook University, Butler University, and Shenandoah University.

In 2006 while as an assistant at Suffolk, Chamberlain was part of the Longhorns' run to a runner-up finish in the 2006 NJCAA National Championship game. In his two years as an assistant at Suffolk, Chamberlain coached ten All-Americans and numerous All-Region players.

"Our primary goal for the lacrosse program will be to provide these young men the tools and character to achieve success in their academic pursuits, their playing careers, and their professions," stated Chamberlain.

In college, he was a four-year starter on the Shenandoah University (Winchester, VA) lacrosse team. As the team captain, Chamberlain earned the squad's Coaches' Award in 1997. He earned a B.A. degree in mass communications from Shenandoah in 1997.

Chamberlain resides in Holtsville with his wife Alaine and newborn son Nolan.
